SEMINAR ON HIGHRISE AND SUSTAINABILITY 20.10.2010 Dewan Besar, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia International Campus, Kuala Lumpur
Introduction The rapid economic growth in Malaysia since its independence more than 50 years ago have riven the change of the skyline of her main cities. Land is the most sought after comodity in the city scape; its high value forces developers to maximize the efficiency of the building in order to gain maximum profit. However, there is a need to address the growth of highrises particularly in relation to the environment. As the world's resources becoming more and more scarce as demands continue to rise, there is a need for buildings, be it big or small, to be green and sustainable. The dialogue is hoped to intrigue the intellectual minds in building for a better future in Malaysia. Who Should Attend? This seminar is targetted for those involved in the contemporary highries industry in Malaysia; from practising architects and engineers to law-makers, future industry leaders as well as the end users themselves. |
