Skudai, March 27th: UTM Endowment Fund, a fund started by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dato’ Ir. Dr. Zaini Ujang through a portion of his Merdeka Award prize money will receive an increase of RM 100,000 for the next three years.

The generous amount will be contributed by Prestariang Group, a company based in Cyberjaya, Selangor focusing on ICT training and certification provider, and software specialist.

Zaini in his speech during the pre-convocation dinner in conjunction with UTM 44th Convocation Ceremony said that UTM is grateful with the funding from Prestariang and will channel the funding wisely.

UTM also received another RM100, 000 for its Student Development Programme from Cardiff City Football Club to strengthen UTM’s Football activities thus increasing the standards of football in local varsities.

Dato' Mohd Nor bin Khalid famously known as the cartoonist Lat whose artworks are in display during the convocation ceremony also attended the dinner.

Also present were the Pro-Chancellors of UTM, Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Abdullah Ayub and Dato’ Dr. Muhammad Ridzuan Salleh and the Chairman of the UTM Board of Directors, Tan Sri Abdul Halim Ali.
