In our faculty, various areas in computer sciences and information systems have been explored extensively through out our research activities. Our research awards and publications showcase the quality and potential of our research products and outputs. Research in the faculty are mostly funded by the government and local industries. We look forward for collaborations with institutions and industry to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and also the filling in the technology chasm that can further develop the country into a more prosperous, healthy and smart nation. There are four main types of research projects in the faculty :
1. E-Science (one and a half year projects funded by Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation(MOSTI)).
2. Fundamental (one year projects funded by Ministry of Higher Education(MOHE)).
3. Contract (funded by industry).
4. Instituitional (funded by Universiti Teknologi Malaysia(UTM)).
Most of the projects' funding and disbursed according to the 5 year Malaysia Plan.
