| The ubiquitous nature of software systems and the increasing dependency of individuals, organizations and government on such systems highlight the importance of software engineering. Most efforts in software engineering aim at improving the methods, techniques and tools in order to facilitate the development, operation, and maintenance of the high quality software systems.
The Software Engineering Department is a fast growing department with an inspiring academic |
programmes and an outstanding research record. It aims to enhance the state of research and practice in the field of software engineering. To achieve this aim, we make a continuous effort toward the 3Qs strategic objectives i.e. Quality Academic Programmes, Quality Research, and Quality People.
Regarding
our academic programs, we furnish our students
with the generic and technical skills required
for a first-class software engineer. To increase
the market potential of our graduates, we also
embed professional certifications relevant to
industries and adapt
IEEE/ACM Curriculum Guidelines for Software Engineering. A
degree from the Software Engineering Department
can prepare you for a promising career in
software engineering.
Concerning our
research, we are proud to mention that more than
RM 2 millions was secured by our staff during
the Eighth Malaysian Plan, and we aim to
increase the amount for the Ninth Malaysian
Plan. In addition, some of our staff also won
various prestigious local and international
research awards. Our excellent research
achievements indicate our capability in
providing advanced postgraduate courses and
research student
supervision. |
